BACKGROUND:

Although “London Bridge, Portsea” is well referenced in Traudi Allen’s 1992 publication on John Perceval, the whereabouts of this significant painting were unknown – until the owner contacted us wishing to sell the painting.

VALUATION & OUTCOME:

This stormy seascape of the Mornington Peninsula was located in Marbella in Spain. We organised its repatriation to Australia, and it eventually sold for  $225,000 incl. buyer’s premium.
