Archives

Art archives are a great resource for anyone wanting to research an artist or artworks. For example, the Art Gallery of New South Wales is one of the few Australian institutions that collects, preserves and makes available for research primary material on Australian visual art. The  AGNSW holds among others the personal archives of over 220 artists, for example the archives or sculptors Bertram Mackennal, Robert Klippel and Rayner Hoff, but also archives of commercial galleries, art societies and other businesses as well as from people in the art world (from art curators and paintings conservators to art collectors and art critics”.
