Dave’s Faves for the Deutscher+Hackett Auction

Deutscher + Hackett always present us with beautifully curated fine art auctions. Their next sale on 24 April in Melbourne offers a collection of works from the estate of the Lady Casey, and many others with exceptional provenance.

Viewing in person is highly recommended – in Sydney until Sunday 14 April, and in Melbourne from 18 to 23 April.

Lot 4 – Rupert Bunny, Maenads c.1913-21, est. $30,000-50,000. A whole lot of Bunny for your Money!
Lot 5 – Russell Drysdale, Still Life, 1937, est. $40,000-60,000. This gloriously colourful modernist painting by Drysdale ticks all the boxes including the price.

Lot 6 – Grace Cossington-Smith, Still Life with Boronia, 1955, est. $60,000-90,000. One of the finest examples to appear on the market in some time
Lot 14 – Cyril Power, The Tube Station, c.1935. A better Grosvenor School print you are unlikely to see – condition perfect. It would be nice to see it stay in Australia
