BACKGROUND:

The landscape works of Sydney by John Ryder Roberts are extremely rare, and only a handful of them have ever been offered at public auction.

This historically very important watercolour of the Folwer Pottery in Camperdown in Sydney had been passed down through several generations of the same family, when we were contacted to assist in its sale.

VALUATION & OUTCOME:

It was offered carrying estimates of $20,000 to $30,000, and subsequently sold for $38,000 incl. buyer’s premium, setting an auction record for John Ryder Roberts.
