Maybe you own an artwork and have wondered what its value is and whether it
should be insured. We offer short internet appraisals on international
and Australian pictures free of charge. Email us your art enquiry for a free internet valuation.
Often, a short art appraisal
is not enough, especially when it comes to insurance matters. That is
when you need a written, fully bound valuation document for one
artwork or for an entire collection. Clients such as Hunters Hill Council, the Manly Art Gallery and Museum, the Dubbo Regional Art Gallery, numerous corporate and
private clients have used our services to value and document their
artworks.
Our art valuer David Hulme values Australian and international art, including oil paintings, works on paper, drawings, etchings, lithographs and other limited edition art prints, photographs and sculpture.
Your
valuation document includes a full description of the artwork, colour
photographs and of course the insurance values and / or market values.
Plus you’ll find information on the current dealers in the artist’s
work and a full biography on the artists, giving the context and
relevant information about a single work or a whole art collection. Just e mail us your art enquiry.
We
can also produce a comprehensive catalogue of your collection for easy
reference and authentication reports on works of art. For example, we
have worked on paintings by Roy de Maistre and John Constable to have them properly attributed and authenticated.
For
clients in the Sydney area with collections that need inspecting and
appraising, we will come to your location. If you are in Australia or
overseas, please contact us on info@bhfineart.com for more information.
David
Hulme is also valuer for the Australian Government's Cultural Gifts
Program, approved to value Australian art including paintings,
watercolours, drawings, prints and sculpture 1900 - 2000. This enables him to assist you when you are donating an artwork or a collection to an eligible public gallery under the Australian Government's Cultural Gifts Program. Detailed information on the scheme can be found on the Cultural Gifts Program website. You can contact David by email if you would like to have a work or a collection valued under this scheme.
Fees
Depending on the circumstances, the cost of a written appraisal will either be charged by the hour or as a project fee.
